What it is.
Neurotoxin treatments, commonly known by brand names like Botox and Dysport, use a purified protein to gently relax the small muscles that create expression lines. As those muscles soften, the skin above them smooths, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
At Chrysalis Beauté, every neurotoxin treatment is performed by Crystal Simm, a Registered Practical Nurse. Common treatment areas include the forehead, the lines between the brows (often called the "11s"), the fine lines around the eyes, and the jaw (masseter Botox) for a slimmer jawline or relief from teeth grinding and jaw tension, and a subtle lip flip for the upper lip. The goal is a softened, well-rested look that still moves naturally.
This is a non-surgical treatment with minimal downtime. Crystal tailors the dose and placement to your facial anatomy and your goals, never a one-size-fits-all approach.

Crystal reviews your medical history, discusses your goals, and assesses your facial movement to build a treatment plan that fits you.

Treatment
A series of small injections using a fine needle. Most appointments take about 10 to 20 minutes, with little to no discomfort.

Recovery
You can return to most daily activities right away. Crystal will share simple aftercare guidance to follow for the first 24 hours.

Results
Results typically begin to appear within 3 to 5 days and continue to develop over about two weeks. Effects generally last three to four months.

Does Botox hurt?
Most patients describe only a brief pinch. The needles used are very fine, and treatments are quick. If you're anxious about discomfort, let Crystal know during your consultation.
Will I look frozen or unnatural?
Crystal's approach is conservative and tailored to your anatomy. The aim is to soften lines while keeping natural expression, you should still look like yourself.
How long do results last?
Neurotoxin results generally last three to four months. Many patients return for maintenance treatments as the effect gradually wears off.
How soon will I see results?
Most people notice changes within 3 to 5 days, with full results developing over about two weeks.
Is there any downtime?
Downtime is minimal. You can usually resume normal activities the same day, following a few simple aftercare instructions Crystal provides.
