Botox for Underarm Sweating (Hyperhidrosis): What to Expect

Botox isn’t just for lines — one of its most life-changing uses is reducing excessive underarm sweating (hyperhidrosis). If you sweat through shirts regardless of the weather or deodorant, here’s how it can help.

How it works

The same neurotoxin used in our Botox & neurotoxin treatments can be injected into the underarms, where it temporarily blocks the chemical signal that tells your sweat glands to activate. With that signal interrupted, the treated area produces noticeably less sweat.

It doesn’t affect your body’s overall ability to cool itself — it just calms the overactive sweating in the treated area.

Who it’s for

  • People with excessive underarm sweating that deodorant doesn’t control
  • Those who sweat through clothing regardless of temperature or activity
  • Anyone self-conscious about visible sweat marks at work or events

If excessive sweating is affecting your daily life, it’s worth a conversation. Crystal will confirm whether the treatment is appropriate for you.

What to expect

  1. Consultation — Crystal reviews your history and confirms you’re a good candidate.
  2. Treatment — a series of small injections across each underarm; it’s quick, usually 15–20 minutes, and numbing can be used for comfort.
  3. Recovery — minimal; you can return to your day with simple aftercare.
  4. Results — sweating typically reduces within a few days to two weeks, and results often last several months (frequently longer than facial Botox) before a repeat treatment is needed.

A note on expectations

Results and duration vary from person to person, and this is a treatment you maintain over time rather than a permanent cure. For many people, though, it makes a real difference to comfort and confidence.

Pricing — and a note on insurance

Underarm hyperhidrosis treatment starts at $1,000 (full details on our hyperhidrosis treatment page). Because hyperhidrosis is a medical condition, some private insurance plans in Canada cover Botox for it — check your plan, and we can provide a receipt for your claim.

Sweaty hands or feet too? We treat those as well — see Botox for sweaty hands and Botox for sweaty feet.
