How PRP Works for Hair Restoration and Skin Rejuvenation

How PRP Works for Hair Restoration and Skin Rejuvenation

PRP is one of the more fascinating treatments in aesthetics because the active ingredient comes from you. Here’s a clear explanation of how it works for both hair and skin.

What PRP is

PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. A small sample of your blood is drawn and spun in a centrifuge, which concentrates the platelets — the components your body uses in its natural healing and renewal processes. Those concentrated platelets are then carefully reintroduced into the treatment area.

Because PRP comes from your own body, it’s a natural-source treatment rather than a synthetic product.

PRP for hair restoration

This is our featured PRP offering, delivered as a 5-session program. Concentrated platelets are introduced into the scalp to support thicker, healthier-looking hair over time. It’s a natural option for people noticing thinning or early hair loss who want to work with their own biology. (For the honest version of how well it works, read does PRP work for hair loss.)

PRP for skin

The same concentrated platelets can be applied to the skin to support tone, texture, and a refreshed appearance, as part of a facial treatment.

What to expect

  1. Consultation — Crystal assesses the area and confirms whether the hair program or a PRP facial fits your goals.
  2. Treatment — a small blood draw, then the platelets are concentrated and reintroduced. Sessions take about 45–60 minutes.
  3. Recovery — mild tenderness or redness is common and short-lived.
  4. Results — PRP works gradually; for hair, the 5-session program is designed to build results over several months. Individual results vary.

Every PRP treatment is performed by Crystal Simm, RPN — see our PRP treatments in Brampton page, or our Programs page for the 5-session hair program.
