Does PRP Really Work for Hair Loss?
It’s the fair question to ask before investing in a series of treatments: does PRP for hair loss actually work? Here’s an honest answer — including who it helps most and where its limits are.
The honest answer
PRP can help support thicker, healthier-looking hair for some people, particularly those with early-stage thinning and hair follicles that are weakened but still active. It works by reintroducing concentrated platelets from your own blood into the scalp to support the follicles’ natural processes.
What it is not: a guaranteed regrowth treatment, and not a fix for areas that have been bald for a long time (where follicles are no longer active). Anyone promising guaranteed results isn’t being straight with you. Individual results vary.
Who tends to see the best results
- People with early or moderate thinning rather than long-established baldness
- Those who start sooner rather than later
- People who complete the full program and keep up with maintenance
PRP works gradually and cumulatively — which is exactly why we offer it as a 5-session program rather than a one-off.
Setting realistic expectations
Because PRP supports your body’s own processes, results build slowly — often becoming noticeable over several months. It’s best thought of as supporting and strengthening what you have, not creating new hair where follicles are gone.
The most honest thing we can do is assess your scalp in person and tell you whether you’re likely to benefit. If you’re not a good candidate, Crystal will tell you.
